Comments from
Ned Corbett re the Boothwyn School photos. :
All of the pictures were taken on
the front steps of the old Boothwyn Elementary school which at the
time had classrooms for elementary, junior and senior high school.
The window on the right side of the photos is at the boiler room.
The coal chute is shown between the front steps and the window.
The coal bin was under the front steps. I recoginze the teacher
in photos 1,3,and 5 but I don't remember her name. The teacher in
photo # 6, I think may have been Mrs. Humpton who taught fifth grade.
Her classroom was the far room on the first floor right side just
outside of the girls rest room. This would indicate the late 30's
to early 40's. The boy in the last photo, standing at the front
right side of the photo appears to be wearing a sailor's white hat
which would indicate a time period of the early 40's possibly after
the onset of WW2.
Since the photos were taken on the
front steps of the elementary school, I would suspect that Ogden
students from the one room school are in the minority. I don't recognize
any one in the photos. The car in the photos would indicate pre
world war 2. I believe that was the last that headlights were mounted
on the fenders.
